Accessibility

Our target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this site. We treat accessibility as a requirement, not an enhancement: an automated axe-core check runs on every build and a build that introduces a critical failure does not ship.

What we have done

• Descriptive alternative text on every meaningful image; decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology.
• Full keyboard operation, including the navigation menus, the giving widget, tabs, accordions, and the image viewer.
• Visible focus indicators that meet the 2.2 focus appearance criteria.
• Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body copy and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
• Form fields with programmatic labels and error messages tied to the field they describe.
• A skip link, correct heading order, and landmark regions on every page.
• Motion reduced automatically when your system requests it.
• No CAPTCHA that requires solving a puzzle, doing arithmetic, or identifying images.
• Video is never auto-loaded; captions and transcripts accompany every film.

Where we know we fall short

• Two archived newsletter PDFs are not yet tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will send an accessible version within two business days.
• Captions on three older films are auto-generated and have not been reviewed by a human.
